After a long legal battle to determine the leadership of Nigerian once ruling political party and self a claimed largest political party in Africa has declared its judgement today, the Supreme Court which sacked Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the party.
The National Caretaker Committee of the party under the leadership of Senator Ahmed Makarfi has taken over the party’s national secretariat.
The secretariat was until Wednesday morning, occupied by Sheriff and his loyalists.
Members of the party trouped to the erstwhile deserted secretariat which was located at Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
As soon as the Supreme Court made the pronouncements, drummers and praise singers took over the party secretariat, singing and dancing as politicians in their large number rushed to the secretariat.
There had been mixed reaction after the ruling as Makarif faction is in wild kubilation and the APC calling for change of name and more democratic processes in other for them to be a credible political party.
The new N100 commemorative notes was formally unveiled by President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Owing to the fact that the ceremony was initially scheduled for last week Wednesday but was postponed due to the president's visit to Burkina Faso. The President was joined by the Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele during the Federal Executive Council meeting.
