Ag President Yemi Osinbajo silent after meeting Buhari in London

As earlier reported that the Nigerian acting President will jet out to London hospital where President Buhari is receiving treatment and afterwards fly back to the country. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo spent one hour with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in London and then swiftly left to begin the journey home. According to Reuters, Osinbajo arrived in the night at the Abuja House, where Buhari has been living since he arrived 8 May, from Nigeria for medical vacation. Osinbajo spent one hour and left without making any comment on his meeting with President Buhari. Spokesman for the Acting President tweeted after the visit that information about what transpired will be made known soon. He said “it was a good meeting”. Akande had announced the visit Tuesday night and that Osinbajo would return immediately after. A Federal Executive Council Meeting takes place every Wednesday in Abuja. French military chief quits after Macron row

French leader Emmanuel Macron faced the biggest crisis of his young presidency on Wednesday following the resignation of the military chief he had rebuked for criticising defence spending cuts. The row between Macron and General Pierre De Villiers blew up last week when the chief of the defence staff told a parliamentary committee he would not allow the armed forces to be “screwed” by the government’s plans to slash 850 million euros ($980 million) from the budget.
